Developments continue constantly
Times change and Hadassah continues to change with the times by adapting to today’s medical advances and anticipating tomorrow's developments.
Hadassah has reconfigured existing buildings and embarked on the most ambitious and far reaching undertaking in its history, the Sarah Wetsman Davidson Tower at Hadassah Ein-Kerem.
Currently under construction, the 19 story Sarah Wetsman Davidson Tower is a carefully conceived cutting edge, cost effective inpatient facility that integrates Hadassah’s deep dedication to healing with science’s most sophisticated developing medical technologies.
With 500 beds, 20 operating rooms, 60 intensive care beds, the Sarah Wetsman Davidson Hospital Tower will house the ultra modern Heart Institute, and all surgical and medical treatment departments and units, as well as all specialized intensive care units.
Hadassah’s Centers of Excellence will enjoy specific sites to develop more pioneering patient care, more groundbreaking research. The new Davidson Tower will have a dedicated radiology and imaging center. A sophisticated communications infrastructure will support seamless integration of clinical and research projects and make patient information immediately available.
New Building of the new Sarah Wetsman Davidson Tower
Hadassah has always been committed to enhancing the environment and these issues were very much in the forefront in planning the building. Long before “‘green” became a household word, Hadassah’s team of Israeli and American architects incorporated many energy saving devices and other innovations into their design to ensure that the building would more than exceed today’s standards.
Most of all, the new Sarah Wetsman Davidson Tower will provide a therapeutic environment for patients and their families, with soothing healing gardens, rooms tailored to patient needs and a comprehensive resource center.
Hadassah Hospital in Mount Scopus Jerusalem
At Hadassah Mount Scopus, the Department of Pediatrics is the largest general pediatric department in Jerusalem, with nearly 9,000 patient visits and 3,500 hospital admissions each year.
The Department has two medical wards A and B including inpatient beds, a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and a full service Emergency Room. The expanded and renovated Wing A officially opened in 2008.
Hadassah plans to renovate Pediatrics Wing B as well, creating additional patient rooms with fewer patients, adding additional more hospital beds and bathrooms.
The new Pediatrics Wing B will also have a private consultation room for sensitive doctor-parent discussions, a treatment room for painful treatments and minor procedures, and a staff room for meetings and lectures.
