Bible Land Museum in Jerusalem Israel

History of this Museum

The Museum, located in Givat Ram near the Israel Museum Jerusalem was founded in 1992 by Elie Borowski to house his personal collection. On a previous visit in 1981 he was encouraged to bring his collection to Israel and build a museum following his vision. Then City mayor Teddy Kolllek made it possible for him to do just that.

Quoting Dr Borowsky, a Near Eastern scholar who built this collection during a period of 40 years:  "Each of the objects has its time in history, its location in space, its meaning in religion and daily life, and last but not least, its beauty and artistry."
